Clarifying questions
Byteflare generates the questions a competent consultant would ask before quoting, and your answers are what make the scope specific.
Who this is for: Anyone who has created a project and is about to generate a scope.
How they are generated
When you generate questions, the brief is sent to the model with a worked example of a good brief and a good question set. The response is validated against a schema. If the response cannot be parsed at all, Byteflare falls back to three generic questions covering goals, timeline and budget, so the project is never left stuck.
The question generation request times out after 20 seconds. Scope generation gets much longer, because it is a much larger job.
Answering well
- Only answered questions are sent to the scope request. Unanswered ones are dropped entirely.
- You need at least one answer. Attempting to generate a scope with none returns a validation error.
- Short, concrete answers work better than hedged ones.
Two rounds of revisions, then hourlybeatswe can be flexible. - If the honest answer is that the client has not decided, say so. That is what produces a useful assumption or exclusion in the scope.
