Public proposal links
A public link shows your client a frozen copy of the proposal, with no sign-in, and can be given an expiry date or revoked at any time.
Who this is for: Pro, trial and Team accounts sending a proposal to a client.
Create a link
Open the proposal preview
From the project, choose Preview.
Choose Share
The dialogue lists any links you have already created for this project.
Pick an expiry
Never, 7 days, 14 days, 30 days or 90 days. Those are the only accepted values.
Create the link
Byteflare copies the new link to your clipboard automatically. Links look like
/p/followed by a twelve-character id.
Every link is a frozen snapshot
When a link is created, Byteflare stores a copy of the proposal exactly as it looks at that moment, including the branding in force. Editing the project afterwards does not change what the client sees through that link. There is no update-in-place path, by design: it means both sides can prove which version was sent.
What the client can and cannot see
The public document is built from a strict allowlist of fields: project name, client name, summary, timeline, sections, pricing, assumptions, exclusions, client responsibilities, payment milestones, optional add-ons, and the date the scope was created. Nothing else from your workspace is exposed — not your rate, not your other projects, not your internal notes.
Revoking a link
- Open the proposal preview and choose Share.
- Find the link in the Existing links list.
- Choose Revoke.
A revoked link stops working immediately. It stays in the list, marked as revoked, so you retain the record that it existed.
